	Aýna, un pueblo con acento 03:13 Minutos Durante la dominación musulmana Aýna debió de ser una pequeña alquería integrada en la cora de Jaén, cuyos habitantes aprovecharon las aguas del río y de sus abundantes fuentes para establecer pequeños cultivos. Precisamente su nombre deriva del árabe ayn, que significa fuente. Ya en la época cristiana perteneció al alfoz de Alcaraz hasta su independencia administrativa en 1565, en que Felipe II le otorgó el título de villa. Con el tiempo el nombre original de Ayn se castellanizó en Ayna (sin acento) y así ha permanecido durante siglos hasta nuestros días. Este nombre se pronuncia como palabra trisílaba llana [a.í.na] con hiato. Se trata de un caso lingüístico excepcional en que las reglas ortográficas no se han aplicado y con el transcurso del tiempo se ha escrito siempre igual, es decir, sin tilde. Hasta ahora nadie había reparado en ello. No obstante, parece llegada ya la hora en el siglo XXI de acomodar la grafía a su pronunciación. Hace tres años puse este caso en conocimiento de la Real Academia Española, quien me contestó que el nombre de este bello pueblo serrano debe escribirse obligatoriamente con tilde sobre la letra "y" para deshacer el diptongo y pronunciarse como palabra trisílaba, caso que ahora lo recoge explícitamente en la nueva Ortografía, páginas 222 y 642, publicada en el mes de diciembre pasado. La palabra Aýna es un precioso arcaísmo ortográfico, pues su letra "y" no es sino un vestigio de la antigua ortografía castellana, en la que era frecuente ...
